SELF CARE FOR SUCESS

Self First.

In a world where the constant demands of daily life can often feel overwhelming. I want to invite you to make a mindset shift from putting yourself at the bottom of the list like I know you do.

And ingraining this motto within you SELF FIRST I believe is the most important.

Do you know why on a plane they ask you to put your mask on before you help anyone else?

Because without you at your best and able to function or breathe how can you look after anyone else?

You see SELF FIRST and Self-care is not just a luxury but a necessity, especially for women.

With the many roles we often juggle – as professionals, mothers,

partners, and caregivers – it's easy for us to put our own needs on the back burner.

But today whilst you read this the message I want you to convey is SELF FIRST.

By engaging in self-care practices you will be more able to maintain mental and emotional well-being for yourself and others.

But it isn’t just that either.

The ripple effect is in full swing.

Little ones and others around us do and become like us, so taking care of you and being in the right place for them will enable them to take on the message SELF-FIRST.

They then pass it on again and again, and the new programme becomes, I am also important, I am enough, I can ask for help.

No one gave you a medal for taking the world on your shoulders last time I checked.

So how do you do this? Caring for one’s self!

Pampering is important so you feel good,  but also Self-Care goes beyond pampering oneself; it's about nourishing the mind, body, and soul to sustain overall well-being.

For women, who often prioritize the needs of others, carving out time for self-care is essential for renewing energy, reducing stress, and creating balance.

Here are 3 tips to help you start doing that today.

1. Rest, we are not designed to be constantly on the go.

Ensure you are getting  7-9 hours of quality rest each night, or in the day if you have waking children.  Incorporate relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga into your daily routine. Set boundaries to protect your downtime and recharge your batteries regularly.

2. Looking after your body on the inside out.

Fuel your body with wholesome, nourishing foods that support you. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Engage in regular physical activity that you enjoy.

3. Connection and support.

One of our human needs is love and belonging. Ensuring relationships are helping you grow. And ask for help or support when needed; vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness.

Remember SELF FIRST
